Camera or rain sensor? How to tell

Look at the top middle of your windshield from outside the car. A lane departure warning (LDWS) camera usually sits in a triangle-shaped window in the black area behind the mirror. A rain sensor is a small round sensor nearby that helps your wipers turn on automatically.
On the quote form, choose Camera, Rain sensor, Camera and rain sensor, or Neither. Not sure? Add a photo to your quote request and we’ll tell you.
More questions
Do you come to me?
Yes. We offer mobile service at your home or office, or you can bring your vehicle to our shop. For heavy equipment, we come to your job site.
What areas do you serve?
San Francisco, the Peninsula, the East Bay, the South Bay, and the North Bay. See our service area page for the full list of cities.
What are your hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We’re closed on Sunday. We don’t offer after-hours service.
Do you work with insurance?
Yes. We bill your insurance company directly. If you want the job done faster, you can pay the invoice at the end of the job and your insurance company reimburses you. Reimbursement timing depends on your insurance company. We don’t accept insurance for heavy equipment glass.
Is your work guaranteed?
Our workmanship warranty covers installation issues such as air leaks and water leaks for as long as you own the vehicle. It does not transfer to new owners.
What do you need to give me a quote?
Your vehicle’s year, make, and model. The VIN gets you the exact part, because two cars of the same model and year can need different windshields depending on their features. A photo of the damage helps too.
Can a chip be repaired instead of replacing the windshield?
Often, yes. A chip can usually be repaired if it’s smaller than a quarter, including any cracks coming off it, and it’s not near the edges of the windshield or in the black area along the bottom. We look at the damage and recommend the most cost-effective fix: a repair when a repair will do, and a replacement only when you really need one.
My car has a camera behind the windshield. What happens after a replacement?
Those cameras should be recalibrated to work as designed. We handle the calibration, at our shop or on mobile jobs, so your safety systems are ready when you drive away.
How long does Tesla roof glass replacement take?
About 2 hours for a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y.
Do you replace sunroofs or moonroofs?
No. For roof glass, we replace Tesla Model 3 and Model Y roof glass only.
Do you clean up the broken glass?
Yes, we clean up the broken glass as part of the job. Small shards can still hide in seats and carpet, so we recommend a professional detail afterward.
Can I text you?
Yes. Text us at 415-279-5898.
How can I pay?
Cash, Zelle, and debit and credit cards.
