Can your chip be repaired?

A rock chip can usually be repaired if both of these are true:

  1. It’s smaller than a quarter, measuring the whole thing, including any cracks (“legs”) coming off it.
  2. It’s not near the edges of the windshield, and not in the black area along the bottom.

Location: chips near the edges or in the black area need a new windshield.

If your chip is bigger than a quarter, or it’s near an edge or in the black area, a replacement is the safer fix, and we’ll tell you so. Not sure? Send us a photo and we’ll take a look.

Tinted windshields: repairs on windshields with tint are done at the owner’s discretion, and Super Auto Glass is not responsible for damage to the tint.
